What do I need to know about the iPad Mini?
Released in October 2012, the iPad Mini has a 7.9" (diagonal) multi-touch IPS LED backlit 1024x768 163ppi native resolution and front 1.2-megapixel and 5-megapixel iSight rear mounted cameras.
The case is made from aluminum and glass in two color options, black or white. It has a 1.0GHz Apple A5 processor and has 16GB, 32GB or 64GB flash storage options. As Apple describes it, the iPad mini line represents a "concentration" of the larger iPad models before it and provides a physically smaller device but with a display that has the same number of pixels as the original iPad (1st Gen) or iPad 2 (but fewer pixels than the retina display-equipped iPad 3rd Gen or iPad 4th Gen).
NOTE: This model is supported by iOS 7, 8 and 9. It is not supported by iOS 10 or subsequent versions of the operating system. Please keep this in mind when ordering as some apps will not work if they require the latest iOS. The iPad Mini is still good for internet surfing, You Tube and email.
